Everyone loved Doris, she was a genuine person, always kind and always thoughtful.
Although she faced her own challenges with health she would always be the first person to encourage other people, she was always cheerful and never moaned about things, she loved coming to the Pop In Place the regular Monday and Friday Community Cafes were something Doris looked forward to, she will leave a big void in the community.
She would often give people little gifts, she would pick up things when she was out shopping and bring them in and say "Saw this thought you would like it" Doris enjoyed all the Pop In Performers shows and all the events that were organised by the team, I especially recall last year when we took a bus trip to Holme Nurseries lovely garden and we pushed her around in a wheelchair so that she could see the beautiful flowers she had such a great day.
It will be hard not seeing Doris at the Pop In Place again, but it's so important that we relaunch the community cafes as they make the world of difference to people's quality of life, and Doris will be there in our hearts as we do.
