Pop In Place Summer Activities and Craft Workshop…
We had a great time at the Art and Craft workshop lead by Darrell Wakelam making some amazing carnivorous plants. Thank you to all the helpers that came along Jim and Janet Morris, Ruth Hughes, Liz Farley and Hannah, Brenda House and Penny Pitcher. The children were completely engrossed for the whole two hours letting their creativity flow under the expert guidance of Darrell who is a real inspiration.
Here are some photos of the workshop.
Farewell to Zena…
Last Friday the Pop In Place said farewell to Zena who is one of our regular supporters, we played pass the parcel, thank you to Ruth and Dave who wrapped these we also had a fun quiz, thank you to Amy who wrote this and well done to Pat Wharf and Peter, Zena’s son in Law who won this.
Zena was presented with an amazing cake that was designed and made by Sarah Louise Leigh, thank you Sarah for all your hard work the cake depicted the time when Zena made teddy bears and also when she was an accountant.
We also gave Zena a bouquet of Flowers presented by Beth and Ruth made her a wonderful Scrap book of photos and memories of her time with us. There was much chat and laughter and lots of home made cake and coffee consumed.
Zena made a lovely and quite moving speech about how much the Pop in Place has meant to her over her years here in the village and thanked all the volunteers for their kindness . It is time such as these when I feel very proud of the team who do give up their time to enhance the lives of those in the community. Thank you to all who make it possible.
We wish Zena lots of love and happiness in her new home nearer to her family and I’m sure she will pop back from time to time with Ros to see her friends here at the Pop In Place.
