24th April 2015...
Today we heard an update from Alan on his latest aid mission and the wonderful work that the project is doing installing water in the hospitals of Zimbabwe, we heard how the many blankets knitted by the ladies of Bere Regis are making a real difference and giving warmth and comfort to those who have nothing. Alan Clarredge comes across like an every day kind of guy and i’m sure he wont mind me saying he isn’t exactly young, but behind this regular person is an extraordinary person in sharing his skills to help save the lives of others.
Guide Dogs...
Today we also heard about the amazing work by the Guide Dogs for the Blind and we met Jan and her Dog Delta, Jan was an exceptional speaker and gave us a great background into what is involved in training Guide Dogs and how they can give people who are unable to go out the confidence to face the world again and become independent. We look forward to working with Maria Waters and her family as we raise funds from our summer show raffles to help them to buy a Guide Dog in Memory of her Father and the children's Grandfather.
Pleased to announce that Jan and Delta will be back on Thursday 7th May at the Chapel as it is Election day and the Hall is unavailable to see the children of our Performers Group.
