Jubilee Events “Lets Celebrate” with Rapport… On Saturday 26th May at 7.30 at the Village Hall Bere Regis we will be holding an evening to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we have booked the popular local band Rapport who will be playing a variety of well know songs for you to enjoy. Please bring your own drinks there will be nibbles provided. Introducing the Pop In Place Community Team 2012… The Pop In Place held it’s AGM today this was well attended, Alison thanked the Team of 2011 who have had a wonderfully successful year raising over £4,000 for worthy causes and providing the village with a much needed and enjoyed multifaceted community group. Peter Wharf took the chair for the election and the following people now make up the Pop In Place Community Team:- Team Leader Alison Bennett, Assistant Team Leader Julie Lye, Secretary Lyn Simmonds, Treasurer Joanna Syrett, Performers Group Leader Alison Bennett, Poppets Leader Emma Bastian, The Community Team:- Denise Smith, Colin and Gwen Vowles, Gill and David Hart, Liz Gale, Tony Shave, Max Saywell (Transport coordinator) Ruth Hughes, Philip Boreham, Liz Farley, Sarah Lye, Gaye Morton and Sarah Leigh. We welcome everyone on the 2012 Team and look forward with enthusiasm to another positive and creative year as we all continue to provide all the various aspects that the Pop In Place offers the local community.
Good Friday… April 10th The Good Friday event at the Pop In Place proved as popular as ever with the hall full to capacity. There was an excellent performance by the JC Puppet theatre, these youngsters just get better and better with their puppetry skills and are very popular now within not only the Church but also the local community. A huge thank you to Pat Wharf and to all the youngsters who attended and to Steve Syrett on the sound. The Easter Bonnet parade was again a real delight with little Bethany Leigh winning the children’s section and Sarah Lye the adults. Our thanks to all who made bonnets and to the judges Gaye and Judi who had quite a difficult task. We were very happy to have Kath on the piano playing the Easter parade so beautifully. Thank you to everyone who donated Easter Eggs another eggtastic egg raffle this year raising funds for the Pop In Place. Heart felt thanks to everyone who helped, to everyone who supported this special Community Easter Event.
