Santa’s Elves working late at the Pop In Place…

December 24th It’s a little known fact that as well as being the home for Performers, Poppets and many other great things, the Pop In Place is also one of Santa’s many wrapping stations across the land. At this time of year the Elves are extremely busy wrapping presents for the children of Bere Regis and surrounding areas. Once in a while the Elves need to take a break from their important work. In the early hours of Friday 23rd December the night shift was in full swing, when a bit of a commotion began. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to take a look. This is what I found… December 23rd The Pop In Place is run solely by volunteers, all of the various groups flourish due to the dedication of the teams of volunteers that help. When you click on News and scroll down month on month on this website you can see all the various events that have taken place this year. They are a wonderful reflection of a community that is vibrant and pro active in enhancing the quality of life for all. It is only possible with the help of reliable, enthusiastic and committed volunteers. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, Happy Christmas. Alison Bennett Team Leader December 23rd During the evening of the Staff Christmas Party amongst many other party games and the like. We also held two very prestigious competitions one was “Knobbiest Knees” that was won by Colin Vowles and the other “Most Slender Ankles” the worthy winner was Karen Boreham. Christmas Party 19th December…

The Christmas Spirit was alive and well at the Pop in Place on Monday morning for our last session of this year. We played pass the parcel, won by Colin Vowles, and had a festive Quiz won by Gill Hart ‘Mrs Christmas’. As you can see from the photos that we even ended up doing a conga and some smooth manoeuvres to all the old favourites, a great time was had by all, special thanks to Denise for arranging the morning. Thanks to the Parish Council for the wonderful Christmas tree and to Gill Hart and Karen Boreham for decorating it so beautifully. We will start back again on Friday the 6th of January 2012. Christmas visit to Billy…

December 16th Dave, Paul and I went to Marley House today to visit Billy Cleall, we took cards and Christmas gifts, he was in great spirits thought that the presents were not going to help his diet much but was thrilled with them anyway, he was so pleased to be catching up with all the Pop In Place and Bere Regis news. Here are some photos and I have also been asked to pass on a special Happy Christmas Message from Billy to you all.

Christmas Carols and mince pie morning…

December 16th It was lovely to see so many people at the Pop In Place this morning for carols and warm mince pie. Many thanks to all the Team who helped out with this festive event and special thanks to Kath Jeeves who played for the carol singing and after a portable CD malfunction also played for the children to sing as well. It was a delight to see the children of Bere Regis School who came along and sang so beautifully for us. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone who visits our website a very happy Christmas. Here are some of the photos that were taken during the morning.
