Pop In Place Volunteers of the year 2012

At   the   Charity   Cabaret      we   presented   the   Volunteer Awards,   this   is   never   a   particularly   easy   task   as   we   are   very   fortunate   in   that   we   do   have   a   lot of people who work very hard within their own specific volunteering roles, all helping us to deliver the Pop In Place and everything that entails. This year the Young Volunteer was presented to Sarah Lye who is a member of the Performers Group and has blossomed into a fine little actress, her enthusiasm   and   commitment   to   the   group   over   many   years   is   most   commendable   and   she   is   now   an   active   member   of   the   Community Team   allowing us to be in touch with the younger part of the community, their views and opinions. Volunteer   of   the   Year   this   year   went   to   two   people   Gill   and   Dave   Hart   who   are   both   members   our   Community   Team      they   also   help   at   the Performers   Group   and   they   help   out   very   willingly   with   all   our   events,   they   are   always   cheerful   and   caring   and   show   a   great   dedication   to   all   that we strive to achieve. The Award   for   Outstanding   Commitment   this   year   went   to   Philip   Boreham.   Philip   is   able   to   offer   expertise   in   areas   that   some   of   us   would   find   quite difficult   to   achieve,   he   designed   and   set   up   this   website   popinplace.net   and   has   designed   and   installed   the   new   lighting   system   at   the   Village   Hall, he   is   also   the   regular   sound   man,   giving   up   every   Thursday   night   for   the   Pop   In   Performers   Group.   Without   his   input   the   Pop   In   Place   would   not   be able   to   reach   out   to   people   through   the   world   wide   web   and   we   would   also   not   have   been   able   to   move   forward   technically   both   with   sound   and lighting  to enhance  our Performance levels for the productions. Colin   and   Gwen   Vowles   were   given   an   Award   for   Long   Term   Commitment   to   the   Pop   In   Place   both   have   been   volunteers   for   fifteen   and   a   half years, their commitment and enthusiasm is definitely something to celebrate and to be commended. Max   Saywell   was   also   presented   with   an Award   for   providing   transport   to   the   Pop   In   Place   for   people   who   are   not   able   to   walk   this   has   enabled   a   lot more people to become involved in our cafes and events. Congratulations to all our worthy winners and thank you to everyone who helps in whatever way with the Pop In Place. We are all part of the bigger picture and everyone’s role within that is in its own way both valued and appreciated.
